Today, we are announcing first-class support for RxJava as of Amplify Android 1.3.0. RxJava is a Java VM implementation of Reactive Extensions . RxJava is widely used by Android developers as a means to simplify asynchronous programming. Amplify Android is part of the open source Amplify Framework. Amplify makes it easy for developers to build Android apps with AWS-powered functionality, such as auth, data modeling, storage, and analytics. 

You now have an option to modify instance types and weights for a running EC2 Fleet or Spot Fleet (referred to further as fleet). You can replace an entire launch template configuration specifying new instance types, weights, and other parameters without deleting and re-creating a fleet. 

AWS Snowball Edge Compute Optimized and compute capabilities for the Storage Optimized device are now available in the AWS Asia Pacific (Mumbai) Region. Snowball Edge Compute Optimized is a secure, rugged device that brings AWS computing and storage capabilities, such as Amazon EC2, Amazon EBS, Amazon S3, AWS IoT Greengrass, AWS Lambda functions, and AWS IAM to your edge environments for machine learning, data analytics, processing, and local storage. You can use Snowball Edge devices in environments with intermittent connectivity (like manufacturing, industrial, and transportation) or in extremely remote locations (like military or maritime operations). These devices may also be rack mounted and clustered together to build larger installations.

Amazon CloudFront now supports real-time log delivery of CloudFront access logs. Amazon CloudFront is a global content delivery network (CDN) that enables you to distribute content to viewers with low latency and high availability. The real-time logs contain detailed information about viewer requests that CloudFront receives. These logs are delivered to your Kinesis Data Streams in real time making it easy for you to monitor the performance of your content delivery and respond quickly to operational events.

Amazon EC2 can now hibernate EBS-backed Amazon EC2 M5a and R5a instances. You can now hibernate your newly launched instances running on M5a and R5a instance types. Hibernation provides you the convenience of pausing your workloads and resuming them from the saved state later. Hibernation is just like closing and opening your laptop lid, your application will start right where it left off.

Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports the July 2020 Patch Set Updates (PSU) for Oracle Database 11.2 and 12.1, and July 2020 Release Update (RU) for Oracle Database 12.2, 18c and 19c. 

Today, we are excited to announce the general availability (GA) of an Amazon GameLift FleetIQ update that enables game developers to add low-cost, low-latency GameLift servers to their existing on-premises or cloud-based server capacities. GameLift is an AWS managed service for deploying, operating, and scaling dedicated servers for multiplayer games, and it is trusted by some of the most successful game companies in the world, including Ubisoft, Gameloft, and N3TWORK. With this update, developers can launch low-cost GameLift servers into their AWS accounts and register the servers with their existing game server management systems to incrementally migrate live games, burst in-game events, or deploy containerized games onto AWS. You can now connect your Apache Kafka applications to Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (Amazon MSK) in the Europe (Milan) AWS Region. Amazon MSK clusters in Milan can be created using kafka.t3.small brokers or brokers from the kafka.m5 family.
