Today, we are reducing the price of AWS IoT Events. AWS IoT Events is a fully managed service that makes it easy to detect and respond to changes indicated by IoT sensors and applications. For example, you can use AWS IoT Events to detect malfunctioning machinery, a stuck conveyor belt, or a slowdown in production output. When an event is detected, AWS IoT Events automatically triggers actions or alerts so that you can resolve issues quickly, reduce maintenance costs, and increase operational efficiency.  

On August 31st, AWS Solutions announced the launch of a new solution, Discovering Hot Topics using Machine Learning. This Solution helps brand-conscious customers understand the contextualization of the hottest topics being actively discussed. This solution ingests large-scale customer feedback and performs real-time analytics using machine learning to separate signal from the noise that goes beyond the basic aggregation of sentiment analysis. This allows organizations to deepen the understanding of their customers opinions, identify new opportunities, and react quickly to change. 

With this Amplify CLI release, you can now assign tags to Amplify-generated AWS resources (such as AppSync, S3 etc.). Tags are key-value pairs that allow you to categorize your resources in different ways, such as by cost center or owner, which simplifies cost allocation in your organization. 

Starting today, AWS WAF and AWS Shield Advanced are available in two new regions: Africa (Cape Town) and EU (Milan).

Amazon now supports the latest Java Feature Release JDK 15 by introducing Amazon Corretto 15 RC (Release Candidate). Corretto 15 is available on Linux, Windows and macOS. Download Corretto 15 RC directly here .

EMR Notebooks is a service that provides a fully managed, Jupyter-based notebook to data scientists and engineers who write ad-hoc jobs and experiment with them. Now you can orchestrate EMR Notebooks in a non-interactive manner to run ETL workloads especially in production. Before this feature, executing notebooks required the Jupyter User Interface access through the AWS Management Console.

AWS Resource Groups makes it easier to manage and automate the tasks on large numbers of AWS resources at one time. AWS Tag Editor allows you to search for AWS resources that you want to tag across multiple services and apply common tags for those resources.

Today, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the General Availability of Bottlerocket , a new open source Linux-based Operating System (OS) purpose-built to run containers. Bottlerocket includes only the software needed to run containers and comes with a transactional update mechanism. These properties enable customers to use container orchestrators to manage OS updates with minimal disruptions, enabling improved security and lower operational costs for containerized applications. AWS-provided Bottlerocket images are available for Amazon EKS (GA) and Amazon ECS (Preview). Bottlerocket is developed as an open source project on GitHub .
