Semi driver hauling fracking water dies in crash with train
The driver of a semi-tractor trailer hauling fracking water died Sunday when a two-car Great Western train hit the truck at a railroad crossing in northwest Greeley. Lt. Rick Cudworth with the Greeley Fire Department said the collision happened about 3:15 p.m. when the train, which was headed east struck the semi, which then rolled into a ditch.

California’s water conservation districts don’t need the approval of property owners or voters to charge their customers fees to fund programs aimed at protecting groundwater, the California Supreme Court ruled on Monday. But the justices in a unanimous decision also said the districts cannot charge cities disproportionately more than farmers for conservation efforts.
