The Amazon Linux 2 AMI with .NET Core has been updated to .NET Core 3.0. This AMI come pre-configured with .NET Core 3.0 , Mono 5.18, PowerShell Core 6.2, and the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI). 

Starting today, Amazon EC2 M5a, M5ad, R5a, R5ad, T3a instances are available in the Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region. Both M5a and R5a instances were first introduced in November of 2018. M5ad and R5ad instances were launched in March of 2019, followed by T3a in April of 2019. All the AMD instances feature 2.5 GHz AMD EPYC 7000 series processors, and are variants of Amazon EC2’s general purpose (M5), memory optimized (R5), and burstable general-purpose (T3) instance families.  

Amazon Athena is now available in the AWS Middle East (Bahrain) region.

Starting today, you can now launch Amazon RDS for Oracle Z1d instances in the following additional AWS regions:

• US East (Ohio), EU (London), Asia Pacific (Seoul), and Asia Pacific (Mumbai).

AWS Systems Manager Distributor now enables in-place updates to keep your software packages installed during the update process. With this feature, you can avoid uninstalling your software during the update process, enhancing your security posture and availability.

Amazon QuickSight dashboards now support one-click filtering through QuickSight Actions. Readers of dashboards can click on data points in charts to view relevant, filtered details across other visuals. Authors can configure Actions to provide detailed insights either via filtering the same dashboard or navigating to a link outside of the dashboard via QuickSight’s URL actions. You can now use AWS Lake Formation in the Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Singapore), and Asia Pacific (Mumbai) AWS regions.

You can now use the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) version 2 preview release with AWS Single Sign-on (SSO) integration. The preview enables your developers to sign-in to the CLI using credentials you manage in AWS SSO or Microsoft Active Directory. The release includes automatic short-term credential rotation enabling developers to take full advantage of CLI profiles to switch between roles, which increases your security posture and developer productivity.

You can now use CloudFormation templates to configure and provision additional features for AWS CodePipeline, Amazon API Gateway, AWS Amplify, Amazon ElasticSearch Service (Amazon ES), AWS App Mesh, and more AWS resources. CloudFormation periodically releases additional support, making it easier for developers to configure and provision AWS services.

Starting today you can now launch R5 and T3 instance types when using Amazon RDS for SQL Server.
