You can now monitor your Amazon Kinesis Data Analytics application using the new Amazon CloudWatch KPU-usage metric, which shows you the number of Kinesis Processing Units (KPU) consumed by your application. KPU is a unit of stream processing capacity comprised of 4 GB memory, 1 vCPU compute, and corresponding networking capabilities. The KPU-usage metric makes it easier for you to monitor increases and decreases in your application’s resource usage as the service elastically scales the number of KPUs required to perform your analysis.

Thinkbox Deadline Supports 3ds Max 2019 and Vue 2016
We are pleased to announce the general availability of the latest release of Thinkbox Deadline, v10.0.15. This release includes support for 3ds Max 2019 and Vue 2016, and includes improvements to features such as Spot Fleet with AWS Portal and Usage Based Licensing.
You can now use Thinkbox Deadline with the latest versions of 3ds Max and Vue, enabling you to take advantage of the latest functionality in those tools without compromising Deadline in your rendering pipeline.
When creating an Amazon EC2 Spot Fleet with AWS Portal, it is now possible to launch fleets across all Availability Zones (AZs) in the region that the Infrastructure is launched in. There is also a new option to add specific Groups and/or Pools to the instances.
Additionally, an improvement has been made to how 3rd Party Usage Based Licensing (UBL) is consumed. If a 3rd Party UBL Limit for a specific application is applied to a job, render time will only be consumed when that application requests a license. This prevents unintended consumption when a 3rd Party UBL Limit is accidentally applied to the wrong job.

Inductors for 2-5MHz dc-dc conversion
Coilcraft had introduced screened inductors intended to reduce losses in power converters running from 2 to 5MHz, and above, at high ripple current. “The use of high switching frequencies or high ripple current allows a corresponding lower inductance value, which results in a physically smaller part for the same electrical specs,” said the firm. “XEL50xx …
