Customers can now use AWS Storage Gateway to migrate, store and access data in the AWS GovCloud (US) Region from on-premises or AWS GovCloud (US) environments. Storage Gateway connects applications to AWS storage, enabling hybrid cloud architectures used for data migration, processing and analytics, file services, backup, and disaster recovery. With Storage Gateway, you can shift from buying storage or backup hardware to using AWS storage services, reducing physical infrastructure and management.

Now, AWS Security Token Service (STS) enables you to have longer federated access to your AWS resources by increasing the maximum CLI/API session duration to up to 12 hours for an IAM role.
