Amazon Corretto 11, a no-cost, multiplatform, production-ready distribution of OpenJDK 11, is now available for use in preview. Previously, only Corretto 8, corresponding to OpenJDK 8, was available. Corretto 8 is generally available.

Amazon Managed Streaming for Kafka (Amazon MSK) is now available in three AWS regions: N. Virginia (us-east-1), Ohio (us-east-2) and Ireland (eu-west-1). Customers also have the option to create new clusters with Apache Kafka version 2.1.0 or 1.1.1.

You can now deploy Amazon AppStream 2.0 in the Asia Pacific (Seoul) Region, expanding the number of AWS Regions where AppStream 2.0 is available to eight. Deploying AppStream 2.0 in your local region provides users with a more responsive experience and may help you meet your local data compliance obligations. With this launch, you can deploy general purpose, compute optimized, and memory optimized streaming instances to meet the needs of your users. Only non-graphics instance types are available at this time. 

Amazon Rekognition Video is a deep learning-based video analysis service that can identify objects, people, text, scenes, and activities, as well as detect unsafe content. Content Moderation for Amazon Rekognition Video can identify various types of explicit and suggestive content, as well as timestamps for where such content appears during the video. Amazon Rekognition Video now comes with an enhanced moderation model that reduces false positive rates by 40% on average without any reduction in detection rates for truly unsafe content. Lower false positive rates imply lower volumes of flagged videos to be further reviewed by human moderators, leading to higher efficiency and more cost savings. Moreover, Amazon Rekognition provides a hierarchical set of moderation labels that can be used to create business rules to handle different geographic and demographic requirements.
