AWS Serverless Application Repository now supports AWS PrivateLink to connect to AWS Serverless Application Repository through an interface VPC endpoint. You can now connect directly to the AWS Serverless Application Repository using AWS PrivateLink in your virtual private cloud (VPC) instead of connecting over the internet.

When you use an AWS PrivateLink, communication between your VPC and AWS Serverless Application Repository is conducted entirely within the AWS network, which can provide greater security and protect your sensitive information. An AWS PrivateLink endpoint connects your VPC directly to AWS Serverless Application Repository. The instances in your VPC don’t need public IP addresses to communicate with the AWS Serverless Application Repository API. To use AWS Serverless Application Repository through your VPC, you have two options. One is to connect from an instance that is inside your VPC. The other is to connect your private network to your VPC by using an AWS VPN option or AWS Direct Connect. You can create an AWS PrivateLink to connect to AWS Serverless Application Repository using the AWS Management Console or AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI) commands. AWS Serverless Application Repository support for AWS PrivateLink is available in all AWS regions where AWS Serverless Application Repository is available.

AWS announces the general availability of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) C8g instances and Amazon EC2 M8g instances. These instances are powered by AWS Graviton4 processors and deliver up to 30% better performance over Graviton3-based instances. C8g instances are ideal for compute-intensive workloads, such as high performance computing (HPC), batch processing, gaming, video encoding, scientific modeling, distributed analytics, CPU-based machine learning inference, and ad serving. M8g instances are built for general-purpose workloads, such as application servers, microservices, gaming servers, midsize data stores, and caching fleets. These instances are built on the AWS Nitro System .

AWS Graviton4-based Amazon EC2 instances deliver the best performance and energy efficiency for a broad range of workloads running on Amazon EC2. These instances offer larger instance sizes with up to 3x more vCPU (up to 48xlarge) and memory than Graviton3-based instances. They are available in 12 different instance sizes, including two bare metal sizes. They offer up to 50 Gbps enhanced networking bandwidth and up to 40 Gbps of bandwidth to the Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS). Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) networking support is offered on 24xlarge, 48xlarge, and bare metal sizes, and Elastic Network Adapter (ENA) Express support is available on instance sizes larger than 12xlarge.

C8g and M8g instances are available in the following AWS Regions : US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Frankfurt).

You can now pick the software and driver versions used by the instances that best fits your needs when deploying models on SageMaker. Amazon SageMaker makes it easier to deploy ML models including foundation models (FMs) to make inference requests at the best price performance for any use case.

Previously, customers had to use preset software and driver versions defined by SageMaker on the managed instances behind an endpoint. Now customers can specify the “InferenceAmiVersion” parameter when configuring endpoints to select the combination of software and driver versions (such as Nvidia driver and CUDA version) that best meets their requirements. This allows you to tailor your hosting environment to meet your performance, compatibility, scalability, and operational requirements of your ML applications. By using this parameter, you can also downgrade and upgrade driver versions for your endpoints on your own schedule.

Today, AWS End User Computing announced new session management capabilities for Amazon WorkSpaces Secure Browser. This update provides administrators with deeper visibility and monitoring insights for day-to-day service management.

Administrators may now access a dashboard view from the AWS Console which displays active and historical sessions over the last 35 days. Using the dashboard, administrators can filter sessions based on user, session ID, portal, or by current status. Administrators can view a session’s start time, current status, and force stop in-progress sessions. Administrators can export session management records from the last 35 days, which can be used for further monitoring or auditing. Session management is available via dashboard view in the console or by using the AWS CLI/SDK.

Session management works with all existing or newly created portals, at no additional charge, in all regions where WorkSpaces Secure Browser is available.

Amazon SageMaker with MLflow now supports AWS PrivateLink, which enables you to transfer critical data from your virtual private cloud (VPC) to MLflow Tracking Servers in a private, secure, and scalable manner. This capability enhances the protection of sensitive information by ensuring that data sent to the MLflow Tracking Servers is transferred within the AWS network, avoiding exposure to the public internet.

MLflow is a popular open-source tool that helps data scientists organize, track, and analyze machine learning (ML) and generative AI (GenAI) experiments. To accelerate ML and GenAI experimentation, you can set-up and manage MLflow Tracking Servers with a couple of clicks in Amazon SageMaker Studio. When you use an AWS PrivateLink, the communication between your VPC and MLflow Tracking Servers is entirely within the AWS network, which provides better security and protects private data. To use Amazon SageMaker with MLflow through your VPC, set up a new VPC Endpoint and connect it to the experiments service. You can create an AWS PrivateLink to connect to MLflow Tracking Servers using the AWS Management Console or AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI).
